As many know, Regis Jesuit has been known for baseball and a wide majority of the players in the program have moved on to play in several collegiate and professional. A few notable players as of recent years have been Ty Blach, David Peterson, Bo Weiss, Travis Marr, Quin Cotton, and Caleb Sloan. Ty Blach who graduated in 2009, and attended Creighton University currently is in the starting pitching rotation with the San Francisco Giants. David Peterson who graduated in 2014 was just drafted last year by the New York Mets in the 1st round as the 20th overall pick. Bo Weiss graduated in 2016 and was drafted by the New York Yankees out of high school in the 29th round, but decided to further his career and play at the University of North Carolina. Travis Marr graduated in 2016 and is currently playing at Clemson University. Last but not least, Quin Cotton who was drafted in the 38th round by the Colorado Rockies is now playing at Grand Canyon University.
Featured Athlete: Caleb Sloan
Caleb Sloan who graduated last Year from Regis was a Top 50 player in the nation coming in at #42 in Perfect Game rankings. Sloan was an Area Code, Under Armour, and Perfect Game All-American his senior year. Being amongst one of the best high school players in the nation last year; Sloan was very sought after by numerous Major League Baseball Organizations. Sloan at the time was committed to continue his career at Texas Christian University, and was set on persuing his dreams there. Sloan who was projected to be a Top 5 round draft pick in 2017, told many professional scouts “I’m going to school,” and therefore he was thought to be un-signable. All in all, Sloan continues to pitch and persue his dreams in becoming a Major League Baseball player at Texas Christian University.
