Regis Jesuit Hockey is having a fantastic season. They recently added to their season achievements on January 27 when they came up with a huge victory over rival Monarch. With the memory of Monarch defeating them last year in the state championship, the raider’s win gave them a sense of revenge and helped secure a number one state ranking. In fact, they received ten out of the eleven first place votes. Other noticeable achievements were victories over Valor Christian and multiple wins against Cherry Creek and Dakota Ridge, who are all among CHSAA’s top ten teams in the RPI rankings.
Rowan Barnes, who has been a varsity hockey athlete for three straight years said,”I feel like this win is going to take us to further heights, with the end goal being a state championship and maybe even a national championship,” about the raider’s latest victory. As the hockey team begins to approach their playoff season, they remember the pain of
last year, and the glory that comes with the victory of a state championship.
