Cheer season is in full swing here at Regis Jesuit. For incoming cheerleaders, the parent and athlete meeting was on April 23rd at 6:00pm. The skills clinics were Wednesday, April 25th, and Thursday, April 26th, from 4-5:30pm. Tryouts were on Friday, April 27th, from 4-6pm in the Girls Division gym. The coaches will be deciding placements for the competition teams and spirit teams after the tryouts. Competition teams will compete throughout the season in regulated competitions, while spirit teams will be performing at Regis Jesuit sporting events, like volleyball and basketball games. Practices will start June 4th for both teams. The girls prepared for auditions Friday, April 27th with the tryout videos listed here. Feel free to contact head coach, Emily Dacus, at cheer@regisjesuit.com, with any questions.
Darby Brown ’20, a varsity cheerleader, says, “Just go for it. There’s nothing to lose, and the tryouts aren’t as hard as they’re made out to be,” in regards to cheer tryouts.
