Regis Jesuit’s Music Program

Regis Jesuit opened the doors to the Preforming Arts Center and along with it opened up unlimited possibilities in their music program. The program can now support more musicians and more fans at their concerts. Mrs. Wuertz is very encouraged by the growth she has seen so far. “Lots of kids are signing up for music classes just so they can use the PAC before they graduate.” She thinks that the program will only continue its upswing. Incoming freshman are extremely interested in the performing arts because of the the new building.

The PAC contains 5 practice rooms, 2 ensemble room, and one chorale room. The specialized rooms allow the students and teachers to always have their instruments

and materials ready to go. They don’t have to waste class time getting the chairs set up and putting stands away since it is a music only classroom. The theater in the PAC no gives them the opportunity to host music concerts and chorale concerts in a acoustically pleasing space. Tradition hall and the gym did not do justice to the amazing vocals of the artists.

3This summer Mrs. Wuertz and Mr. Sauer will be putting on a summer camp in the PAC for musicians. Boys and girls from the 7th through 12th grade get the opportunity to spend 4 days this summer at the school learning about performances. This is the first year to hold a camp like this because the school previously couldn’t support a camp like this. Opportunities like this are only the tip of the iceberg on what is possible for the music department.
