Over the past two years Regis Jesuit High School and Legend High School have partnered together to create a conference dedicated toward empowering women and addressing the problems teenage girls are facing today. The conference known as Shine Summit, is a chance for teenagers to hear from female speakers and participate in break off sessions to learn about body image, relationships, motherhood and more. This year the keynote speakers include Regis Jesuit Grad ’07, Lacey Henderson a Paralympian at 2016 Rio Olympic Games and Ali Stroker an actress that has appeared on The Glee Project and Glee. “The conference gives the opportunity for women to spend a day discussing important issues surround women today,” said Katelyn Martin a senior director of the conference.
The conference is held on March 9th at Denver First Church from 8:00 a.m- 1:30 pm. Students are encouraged to participate in this great opportunity to empower women.
