As the Regis Jesuit varsity basketball team, lead by coach Ken Shaw, transitions towards the upcoming playoffs, many are predicting whether or not the team will make it to the state championship.
The experts have studied the team all year but, how far do the students of Regis Jesuit predict the Raiders will go in this year’s playoffs? Do they think the varsity team will complete a deep playoff run or be knocked out early by tough rivals? We talked to freshman basketball player Jack Carbone and he told us,
“I would say that we would make it to the round of 8 but, not all the way.” Jackson Overton, another freshman, told us, “I think that they are really talented and they have a shot to win it all.”
The team is currently 17-5 with one more game to close out the year versus Heritage High School. After a crushing loss in double overtime, 91-92, against Chaparral High School on Wednesday night; Regis Jesuit looks to bounce back and finish the season strong as they head for the playoffs.
