Regis Jesuit Girls Lacrosse Welcomes a New Coach

By Erin McCormick ’21 and Isabella Marchiol ’21

This year the girls varsity lacrosse team welcomed a new coach, Mrs. Ames. She previously worked as a coach with Cherry Creek, East, club, and youth teams. The girls on this team love having Mrs. Ames as a coach and the environment has changed since she’s come, she has brought a new aspect to the team. This year Coach Ames has taken this team to new heights as they are now ranked 3rd in the state. When we asked Mrs. Ames how they were doing it, she said, “We are a whole, we are one”.

She says this teams relationship has a real effect on their playing. To Mrs. Ames this year is a fresh start after taking a break from coaching lacrosse last year. “I was excited about raising the bar for the girls, I knew there was a lot of potential”, she said. Mrs. Ames has created many new opportunities for the girls and  motivates the girls to work as a unit and never give up.
