Last Wednesday, May 9th, marked the last day of classes for the Class of ’18. This means that it’s now time for this year’s juniors to take over the role as the leaders of our school.
The juniors have a big role to take over, but they will manage the transition with ease. The Girls Division President of the Class of ’19, Sarah Tartell, is very excited for the change.
She says, “Our class will have big shoes to fill, as the class of 2018 has been exceptional. Our classmates have grown together over the past three years through retreats, academics, events, and activities, and we will come together even more to be role models for the underclassmen. The class of 2019 is an impressive group with varying talents and treasures, but most importantly we are living the Jesuit philosophy of being men and women with and for others.”
On top of their leadership role, the juniors are refining their search for college. They are visiting campuses, talking to their college counselors, and discerning which college will be the best fit for their futures.
In response to this stressful time, junior Emma Hart says, “I’ve been thinking about this process since freshman year, so, even though it’s stressful, it’s exciting that it’s finally happening. We’re all really lucky to have great counselors and teachers to help us ease the stress.”
Sarah says, “I am looking forward to being a voice for the student body and to continue to build upon the amazing experience Regis Jesuit has to offer.”
Like Sarah, we should all be excited for the upcoming year!
