Selena Gomez announced on September 24, that she is going to take a break from social media… again.
“Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi,” said Gomez through one of her Instagram posts.
The announcement came three days after she deleted her most liked photo (10.6 million likes). This heart aching picture was of her getting a kidney transplant and the caption (above) showed how grateful she was.
Gomez is the most followed social influencer on instagram with a grand total of 143.9 million followers, but it’s not always easy. Being put in the center of fame has its pros and cons. With the endless amount of love and gifts, comes a pit filled with negative hate comments.
Some of these hate comments include:
-
“You’re a f**king idiot”
-
“I am going to murder you”
-
“Wish you were dead”
-
“U r not beautiful”
-
“Bye never come back”
Gomez is grateful for her supporters, but some people’s words have taken a toll on her. Much like anyone else.
