The Random Acts of Kindness Club is made of “students committed to performing random acts of kindness at RJHS and out within the community.” They pride themselves in actions that can make someone’s day better. A couple weeks ago, they were handing out otter pops to anyone in want of one in the Girls Division quad.
“The feeling I get when I do something, even something little, just to brighten someone’s day is unlike any other,” says sophomore Madeline Roper.
The FIAT Club, moderated by Ms. Champa, focusing on “helping girls understand that living the Christian life is an everyday commitment and that we need one another to help the journey.” With weekly meetings, the girls practice daily prayer and dig deep into the teachings of the church.
The Arrupe Club “offers students the opportunity to work with the poor and marginalized in our community.” It provides an excellent way for students to get involved in service and making a difference in their community.
Sophomore Meg Marrs says, “It is an amazing way to create bonds with new people while getting involved with those in need.”
Moderated by Mr. Love and Mrs. Cattelino, they participate in activities such as, assisting the homeless, tutoring, making meals for those in need, and helping out in general around the Regis Jesuit campus.
Cadre Club is an “organization of students who raise money through weekly collections from the Regis Jesuit community to help assist those in need around the world, and in our own community.” Every time you have to bring in a couple dollars for a raider day, it’s probably the Cadre club’s doing.
Special Olympics is a club in which students of Regis Jesuit can interact and help out children with intellectual disabilities. This club participates in Unified sports in which Regis Jesuit students play flag football, basketball, and soccer with children with intellectual disabilities. The club also has participants volunteer at Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO) bowling tournaments.
Moderated by Ms. Glenn, Mrs. Hauge, and Mrs. McDermott.
Information on Girls Divison service clubs, like FIAT, Random Acts of Kindness, Arrupe, Cadre, and more, alongside other clubs at RJHS, can be found on the Regis Jesuit school website.
