Whether you listen to punk, rock, jazz, rap or electronic, music  has benefits.  Recent studies have shown that music helps with school. It has multiple benefits for learning including increased focus, improved memory, and it helps students pickup topics faster.  But there is a much more important benefit to being a musician. Mr. Tim Sauer says that music can offer a creative outlet.

Everyone has a different creative outlet weather it is as an artist, thespian, or even sometimes an athlete. But music is unique.

Even as a student going to Regis, Mr. Sauer played in the Jazz band. In his experience in the Regis band, he was given a chance to express himself. Regis Jesuit offers many music programs for just this. Some of the many opportunities include a pit band, jazz band, beginning band, pep band, orchestra, and many more. with so many opportunities, anyone at Regis Jesuit can experience the benefits of music.

Regis Jesuit gives students a chance to play in a band. It is a very different experience playing in a band verses playing on your own.

“A band functions a lot like a team, a lot like a if your of a football team or if your on a basketball team in which everybody has a particular role. So some of those same things that are being showed on the football field are being learned in our band classes too,” Mr. Sauer said.

The experience of playing in a band is highly valued by Regis Jesuit. That is why every RJ student is given the chance to Be apart of one.
