April showers bring May flowers! Or in Colorado, flowers are already blooming, and snow continues to fall. Mother Nature gives the best of both worlds — cold snowy days, perfect for sweaters and cozy fireplaces and warm, sunny days with bright blue skies — and this week, earth week, is our opportunity to show our thanks for the beautiful nature.
The Regis Jesuit campus is a picture of spring, with bright yellow daffodils and trees blooming with green and pink buds. As students, especially during this earth week, we should take the opportunity to show our thanks for the beautiful campus we have.
“We are a community. We are all in charge of taking care of our campus,” says Ms. Lotito, Girls Division Dean.
It’s so easy to carelessly drop trash while eating lunch outside; this week, take an extra second to pick it up. Instead of dumping the rest of your lunch in the trash can, take a minute to sort out the foil and the cardboard and put those in the recycle bins. Bring a reusable water bottle instead of buying and wasting plastic bottles every day. And, this week, as you walk around outside, say a quick prayer of thanks for the beautiful nature God has given us, especially here at Regis Jesuit.
