The Raiders lost at home against Highlands Ranch, last week, in what turned out to be a thriller at Kellogg Stadium Friday night. The final score 20-17.
Raider’s own Geno Macias, scored a 29 yard touchdown, followed by a successful conversion kick, giving the Raiders a 7 to 0 lead over the Falcons. This cushy lead was questioned by a Highlands Ranch Field Goal to end the half.
It was an uneventful third quarter, until Highlands Ranch livened things up a bit with a safety, bringing the score to Raiders 7 Falcons 5.
To start the fourth quarter, Highlands Ranch scored another safety, tying the game at 7’s. This was swiftly followed by a Falcons touchdown and successful extra point. Giving the Falcons their first lead of the game at 14 to 7. This lead would not last long however, as Kiahn Martinez tied the game at 14 to take it into overtime.
Regis Jesuit started overtime with a 35 yard field goal from Mariano Adame. The Falcons promptly responded, with a touchdown to close the game, Falcons 20 Raiders 17.
Overall, the Raiders came out with a solid defense, Friday night, with Geno Macias leading the Raiders in tackles. Martinez and Macias had one touchdown each. Unfortunately, crucial mistakes in overtime cost them the win.
