On December 2nd, the Raiders’ wrestling teams took on the Warrior Invitational at Arapahoe High School. The Warrior Invitational typically is an annual start to the wrestling season. We interviewed the Varsity Girls wrestling team, and got some awesome shots and footage throughout the meet.
First, we interviewed freshman Remmington Zimmer ‘27. Following Remmi was state runner-up senior Alexis Segura ‘24. Lastly we interviewed sophomore Hannah Pramita ‘26. We chose to focus on the girls varsity wrestling to shine some spotlight on this upcoming women’s sport. These talented girl wrestlers shared their stories with us as we shared their stories with you! As we ask about the girl’s favorite memories from their current seasons and past seasons, we find that they are truly a family, as well.
These compassionate, athletic, and charismatic girls all make up a tenacious team. No matter the level of experience and the grade level these girls can bond and come together as a team. We also asked the girls about the reason that they joined our girls team. We know this isn’t an easy time to be an athlete due to multiple academic hardships at this time, finals and end of year festivities.
We are so incredibly proud of our girls team because they are breaking barriers and defying stereotypes of wrestling. Girls wrestling is still a very old-fashioned sport. This amazing opportunity to watch and make a story on history. Your raider girls wrestlers are making waves in history by participating in this very inspiring sport.
