Regis Jesuit JV lacrosse had a thrilling 14-2 victory against rival Valor Christian on April 23, 2024.
We interviewed Coach Barry pregame and this is what he had to say “We need to play at our best to compete with them to match that level and show everyone what Regis can do.”
“Excited to compete against Valor and get some revenge from the last time we played them.” Freshman Midfield Liam O’Shaughnessy had this to say before the game. They had previously lost to this valor team so they had extra reasons to show up and win.
The game started slow with a score of 2-1 Raiders after a quarter of play, but the boys figured it out, and came out firing in the second giving Regis a lead of 6-2 at the half.
Coming into the second half the Raiders stepped up their game. The game turned into a blowout with the majority of the time being spent in Valors defensive zone. Regis shut out Valor the entire half while getting themselves 8 more goals.
Regis ended the game winning 14-2, This win meant a lot to the team because beating not only did they get revenge for a previous loss but they beat Regis’s arch rival Valor Christian.
postgame we interviewed Freshman Attack man Anders Dirindin ’27 with 2 goals and 2 assist “First quarter was pretty rough our offense couldn’t really get it together, but second half we really got it together.”
