Hello again!

Our second topic is the government dismantling of the institute of museum and library services (IMLS). The IMLS is a small government faction that offers funding to museums and library services. While it’s not the most well-known, it offers billions in funding for various educational services. Museums and libraries are critical to public education, especially if you don’t have access to a typical school system. In recent events, the IMLS is under attack by the federal government. The program has undergone severe employee cuts and defunding, making it very difficult to support public libraries and other services. Without the grants, libraries and museums will be forced to shut down sooner or later. This comes in a time when mass book bans are already being enacted every day. People around the world rely on books and museums for cultural and educational exploration and currently they are under threat of closure. There have been several cases to court suing the federal government over these budget cuts and many have won at the state level.
