Ben Stone is a name that’s become synonymous with dominance on the lacrosse field. Standing at 6’4” and weighing in at 210 pounds, Ben is a powerhouse of a defenseman for the Regis Jesuit Boy’s Lacrosse Team. This year, he has served as a team captain, leading the Raiders to an 11-6 season and a deep run into the CHSAA 5A State Playoffs.
Under Ben’s leadership, Regis has advanced to the state semifinals, where they are set to face off against the number-one-seeded Cherry Creek Bruins, a rivalry matchup with a trip to the championship game on the line.
Ben’s talents and strengths also extend far beyond high school. He’s the only Division I lacrosse commit from his class at Regis Jesuit, set to take his skills to the collegiate level at Providence College. When we asked Ben what that honor meant to him, he remained humble, crediting his teammates, coaches, and family for supporting him throughout the journey. We also asked Ben about what he thinks he is going to do at Providence in his college years and he said, “I think I’m going to do great and I am going to get better and that’s all that matters.”
On the field, Ben is impossible to miss. Whether he’s delivering a humoingous check or hit or firing up the team with his leadership, his presence sets the tone for the entire team. And off the field, he’s a role model balancing leadership, and the pressure that comes with being a top recruit.
As the Raiders prepare for the biggest game of their season, all eyes will be on number 10, Ben Stone to help anchor the defense and hopefully lead Regis Jesuit to a state championship appearance.
We wish Ben and the team the best of luck in the playoffs and in the exciting years ahead at Providence.
