The Regis Jesuit Boys Golf Team has high expectations this upcoming season. Ranked 1st overall, the team led by Seniors such as Bo Wardynski and Cole McCoy, expects to bring home another ring this year.
Following Wardynski’s commitment to the University of Tampa, the Golf team headed to Arizona this past weekend to compete in the Antigua national high school invitational tournament against twenty four of the best high schools in the nation. Despite the boys impressive effort, they placed 17th out of all of the schools competing. Wardynski shot 77 in both of his games.
However they hold their heads high. Andrew Soechtig ‘20 returned this year after a devastating back injury. “Through much hard work and a passion for the team, I became a better man and a better golfer in my effort toward recovery.” Soechtig said prior to the tournament.
The Golf team has won three league matches and has only lost one, giving them the best record in the continental league, and high hopes for state.
