This has been a great year for RJ’s track and field team. This 2018 season has had the most student participation in the history of the program. Varsity alone has around 196 athletes, not including the number of athletes who swing from junior varsity to varsity, and also the entire junior varsity team. One of the best things about track, is that it is a no-cut sport and gives everyone an opportunity to participate and to try something new. Many track athletes are also multi-sport athletes, or athletes who felt like switching up the spring semester with a new sport. Anna Marshall ’18 says “This year was my first year doing track, and pole vaulting was definitely a new experience but it was really fun to do with friends.” The best thing about track is that no experience is necessary and anyone can come out, get exercise, and be apart of a team and community.
