Houses burn as thousands of Arminians flee the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region of Armenia, which was conceded to the republic of Azerbaijani’s forces, after a truce brokered by Russia came into effect.

This comes after Azerbaijan launched a major offensive in September towards the Armenian controlled region that is internationally recognized as Azerbaijan’s. This region has been controlled by Armenia for the last 20 years.

The prime minister said the decision was made after “deep analyses of the combat situation and in discussion with best experts of the field”.

Armenians have been greatly disheartened and surprised by the quick and brutal Azerbaijan artillery units advance. An assault that has left major portions of the capital of the region in rubble and killed thousands of innocent civilians.

“They’re so fast that we can’t manage to hunt them down, I won’t say that we are not afraid. We are all afraid,” Mr. Aleksanyan, a formerly retired military colonial said.

Not everyone is unhappy with the truce. In Azerbaijan, people partied in the streets and held celebrations commemorating the leader of Azerbaijani and the country’s military victory.

“Tell the world we are coming home,” A young Azerbaijani boy’s sign said proclaiming the desire to continue the conflict.

In a press briefing, shortly after the conceding of the territory, Armenia’s prime minister addressed the press.

“This is not a victory but there is not defeat until you consider yourself defeated,” the prime minister said.
