The issue at hand is that college athletes cannot currently have YouTube channels because it is considered as payment. You most likely have heard about this on social media I’m concerned about this because in a few years I’m going to try to be a college athlete.This is a valuable source of self-expression that should not be denied to someone just because they’re an athlete

It is weird how they school could sell the kids jersey but the kid can’t because they can’t get paid? YouTube is a great place where college athletes could express themselves and there individual identity on their channels. They should be able to make some money on the side and get paid just like any other college student. Most don’t have time for a job due to the schedule for their sport. They are talking about college athletes making money or getting paid in 2024.

At the very least, this should not be a violation worthy of expulsion. Deestroing played college football and he had a YouTube . When his coaches and school found out he got kicked out of his college and ruined his chances of going to the NFL. Now he has no livelihood and he’s not playing for a team anymore.They’re in college. They already got there scholarships to play . This is a distraction. It could put the team in jeopardy if they express something bad there. They can distract them from focusing on the game and they need to focus.

College athletes should be able to have youtube channels and have fun with them. Self-expression is important, especially at that age, and they should have a way to make money.This is a valuable source of self-expression that should not be denied to someone just because they’re an athlete.If we’re allowed to do this in high school, someone of immense talent and platform should have the same opportunity.
