With COVID-19 raging more than ever before, more and more people are being hospitalized. Many of these people were uninsured but needed to seek help immediately. According to  the United States census which was taken in 2018, 27.5 million people do not have some form of health insurance. These people are all suffering to pay for hospital visits, with every visit costing up to $10,000. If we do not care for these people, then we are doing obvious harm to them and their families. In the United States, everyone needs access to some sort of free healthcare.

With Universal Healthcare, people wont have to worry about a massive bill after coming out of a hospital. Although healthy people may be rejecting a tax hike, it just might be worth it so that unhealthy people can actually have a life to live instead of worrying about health bills. It wont even be a tax hike, it will just be a reduction of things so the U.S can afford it.  It isn’t fair for all the people suffering from their bills while we live how we want to. We have to help each other out. This would be a good way to express out catholic values, caring for those who are less fortunate.

Some people think that this is just communism that would tear the American livelihood down. This is just not correct because if we were to implement communism, it would affect lots more things than just healthcare. Some people don’t wont to fork up a few extra dollars. Well it’s a small price to pay for better conditions for all. Lastly, people claim that the amount of people in the hospital at one time would double. This is simply untrue. At most there would be a 10% increase and that’s on the high end.

If we introduce Universal Healthcare to the United States, we would see hospitals being mostly the same. They will deliver mostly the same care and you can just walk into any hospital you wish. Not only is it way cheaper but it is also very convenient.

With Universal Healthcare, people in the US will stop being afraid to go see a doctor. The benefits of universal healthcare benefits outweigh minimal consequences. We need to have Universal Healthcare.I urge you to contact lawmakers, sign a petition, and use your vote to make the world a better place through increasing health care access.
