Raiders Volleyball Senior Night 2023

On a cold Tuesday night in Guy Gibbs gymnasium the boys’ varsity volleyball team took the court for senior night against Cherokee Trail.

Junior Sef Muasani, who was a line judge for most of the season, said “It was as packed as he has ever seen it.”  First, they announced Cherokee Trail’s seniors.

Then they announced the Regis Jesuit seniors one by one. Each one came up to center court where they got their picture taken with Head Coach Kristine Gauss and the announcer told the crowd where they would be off to after their time here at Regis.

The players were surrounded by their friends, families, and flowers The first set the Regis Boys came out strong.

They won the set by 10 points and Senior Logan Henry had 4 blocks. In set 2 Cherokee Trail Cougars fiercely bounced back. Coming into the game with a whopping 12 game win-streak they were certainly not going to go down 0-2.

Junior Cougar John Clinton, who stands at six foot six, proved to the state that he has been one of the most impactful players to ever play volleyball in the state of Colorado.

He was averaging 4 kills per set, and he was the main reason the raiders lost the second set 10-21.

The crowd was going wild, the gym was blazing, and fans were rowdy as the third and final set began. Senior Jackson Perez, standing 6-foot 4 smacked the ball down to give the raiders a 1-0 start to the final set.

The Raiders quickly went up 5-0 in the third set. This lead didn’t last long as they fell short 14-21 on senior night.

It was an amazing season and a “great learning experience” senior Logan Henry said. Hopefully the Boys Volleyball team will go out differently next season.
