On Wednesday, May 5th the Regis Raiders girl’s lacrosse team faced the Cherry Creek Bruins at the Stutler Bowl. The Raiders went into the game with an 8 -2 record and faced a strong and experienced Cherry Creek team with a 10-3 record.

Each team was well aware how important this late season rival game was and played hard and gave it their all till the end of the game. At half time the Raiders had the upper hand with the score being 4 -2. Each team played great defense and both teams had good shots on goal.

The second half took a wrong turn for the Raiders and the Bruins came out strong. They scored in the first five minutes of the half and ended up scoring 7 goals in the second half while holding the Raiders to four goals and playing great defense throughout the second half.

The game came down to the last few minutes, but the Raiders failed to tie the game up and lost 9-8 in a close battle. As the girls’ lacrosse team approaches the end of the season it will be extremely important that they win their two final games and head into the playoffs with momentum.
