Garrett Reece’s Revenge Tour

Garrett steps onto the mat at Ball Arena, preparing for the state finals. He is determined to finish his run and become a state champion. As a sophomore, Garrett stands out as one of the fastest wrestlers with jaw-dropping endurance. Wrestling has taught valuable lessons to him, and he emphasizes, “First lesson… work ethic for sure, never give up… and when I fall short of goals, it just means to work harder.”

A six-time All-American, Garrett secured his first title during his freshman year, followed by five more in 2022-’23. Earning state placer status in both freshman and sophomore seasons, he is determined to clinch a state title in his junior and senior years. After a near-perfect season, marked by victories in renowned invitationals and tournaments, most notable being a 5A continental league championship, Garrett dominates on the mat. He consistently beats opponents by landslides, either pinning them or establishing a lead that others cannot recover from.

Approaching the state finals, Garrett faces the only obstacle standing between him and a state title. Looking at the stats, his opponent appears to be no match for Garrett, having earned a pin in the run to the finals and scoring eleven and eight points in his other matches. Garrett only needs to win this match to secure his place in state and school history. However, in heart-breaking fashion, Garrett is pinned by his opponent in just thirty-five seconds, bringing his run to a sudden end.

Despite this devastating loss, Garrett channels it as fuel to chase the state title in his junior year. Eager to return to the state final, he shares in an interview, “Now every day I work as hard as I can just to ensure that I can reach that goal.” Garrett constantly displays his outstanding work ethic in practice, school, and matches. Already achieving multiple pins in his junior season, placing first in a multi-program invitation which included defeating the state’s second-ranked wrestler, Garrett is going to be one of the state’s best wrestlers now and for years to come. Aspiring to reach the state finals this year and come out a state champion. With his work ethic, determination, and dedication to this game, it is clear that he will be a champion.
