Support rises after terrorist attacks rocked the city of Paris on November 13th

Friday, November 13th, 2015, three groups of terrorists carried out six devastating attacks in Paris, France. A total of 129 people were killed and over 350 were injured. According to NBC News writers Cassandra Vinograd, Nancy Ing, and Jason Cumming, these events were “the deadliest attack on French soil since Nazis invaded in World War II”. The attacks took place at the Batlacan Concert Hall, near several different restaurants, and outside the Stade De France soccer stadium.
So what can we do to help? To show their support for France, many on social media are changing their profile to the French flag. New York Knicks power forward Kevin Séraphin grew up in Paris and demonstrated his support with his haircut today at the Knicks game against the New Orleans Pelicans. However, the most popular demonstration of support for Paris right now is the trending hashtag #prayforparis. In times like these, unity is essential, and, as a Jesuit High School, we cannot forget about the power of prayer and that God will never leave our side. Keep Paris as well as the rest of the world in your prayers Regis Jesuit!

Matthew 5:43-45 (NIV) “You have heard that it is said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in Heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
