Chiefs’ Coach’s Son Hospitalizes 2 Children In Car Crash After Alleged Drinking

Chiefs Have Yet to Compensate Family of Victims

According to police reports, Britt Reid, son of Chiefs Coach Andy Reid, crashed his truck into a vehicle that had ran out of gas on the side of the road, less than a hour outside Arrowhead Stadium. Although the driver, still in the car, was unharmed, the 4 and 5 year olds, also in the car, namely the back, were rendered with hospital-worthy injuries, along with Reid. The 5-year old sustained brain injuries and is currently still in the hospital. Andy Reid addressed the matter after his team’s 31-9 loss to the Buccaneers at Super Bowl LV.

“My heart goes out to all those that were involved in the accident, in particular the family with the little girl who’s fighting for her life… My heart bleeds,” said Andy Reid.

Britt Reid is currently under investigation by the Kansas City Police Department. However, even though Brett admits to having “two or three drinks” before the crash, and one of the responding officers who talked to Reid at the crash site smelled “a moderate alcohol or alcoholic beverages,” no arrests or convictions have been made yet.

“Most serious injury/ fatality crashes takes weeks to investigate, as do criminal investigations. This is no different,” a spokesman for Kansas City Police said.

This is not the first time that something of this matter has happened with Reid, as in 2007, Reid pleaded guilty to gun and drug charges following a road rage dispute. However, it seems that that will not be the case this time around.

A GoFundMe has raised over $300,000, and as of noon on Monday, the family has not heard from either the Chiefs or the Reid family, and are wondering whether or not the Reid family will give compensation and an arrest will be made.

Whatever the outcome may be, in the words of Andy Reid, “That little girl, my heart goes out to her.”
