On May 1st, 2025, the Regis Jesuit community squeezed into the boys’ division gym for the final all-school mass of the year. While some seniors dressed to impress, others kept it casual, as they had many more masses to come. A group of senior boys decided to go out with a bang, as they wore elaborate and unique suits that blew the minds of many.
Regis Jesuit got their first look at the Order of Christian Initiation of Teenagers, as Fr. Gary Menard, SJ led them through the beginning of their year long journey. Each of the individuals had a sponsor that would lead them through the experience. The OCIT says, “Whether you are a teen searching for answers or a family rediscovering your faith, we are here to walk with you every step of the way and to help prepare you to receive the grace of the sacraments.”
After mass, the senior class was asked about their favorite mass or retreat experiences at Regis. While most said Kairos, Camille Serna expressed her gratitude for a different experience, “I really liked leading sophomore and freshman retreat”. During these interviews, the seniors were also asked about what they are thankful for from Regis Jesuit. Athziri Martinez expressed her gratitude towards Regis for meeting someone very important to her, “I’m probably most grateful for meeting one of my closest best friends”.
Many of the seniors expressed their gratitude toward Regis, but the most common memory that people have is Kairos. Kairos has changed the lives of many, and the class of 2025 was more than ready to bring those memories with them into their next steps. All of the seniors were thankful for their time at Regis and left the last mass with a smile on their faces, ready to go to college.
