Twenty Five and plus years can be a lot for a teacher. Some may stay, some may leave, but for Ms. Debossu, it was a time to be amazed.

“I think it’s healthy to be amazed again” said Ms. Debossu. When she was younger, Ms. Debossu once wanted to be a private plane designer.

Ms. Debossu teaches French 1, Honors 2, Honors 3, French 3, AP, and French Civ. French Civ is a movie based class that discusses French movies. It took Ms. Debossu many years for Civ to be approved by the board.

Not only does she teach French, she also taught English.

She teaches 80 students all together: 20 freshmen, 22 sophomores, 18 juniors, and 20 seniors.

It is true Ms. Debossu will be leaving Regis Jesuit next year.

“Everyday the kids are unpredictable.” said Ms. Debossu. “You all have things I like about you and what I don’t like about like any human being.”

“The thing I will miss the most are the students” said Ms. Debossu, “Adults are too serious, they don’t have fun as kids do.”

The choices Ms. Debossu have are undecided. Will she go back to France? Will she go to Illinois? What about her beach house on Lake Michigan? Or finally, will she stay here in Denver?

What about if Ms. Debossu had a choice to stay? “No, I think it’s really healthy to be amazed once again in your life.” Amazement is a necessity for a human being according to Ms. Debossu.

One of her most memorable moments here at Regis Jesuit was going to Kairos with the Boys Division.

But one memory Regis Jesuit will have is Ms. Debossu as a teacher.
