Jake Taylor and Reed Babcock

Jake Taylor and Reed Babcock are nothing short of amazing when it comes to lacrosse. Jake a sophomore attackman on the varsity lacrosse team, and Reed a sophomore midfielder on the varsity lacrosse team, were some of the youngest commits in the nation both to the University of Denver to play lacrosse. Jake committed to Denver in September 2015 as a freshman, and Reed just a few months later that year. “I was the seventh commit in the nation and that was just amazing knowing that all my hard work payed off,” said Taylor when asked about his commitment. Jake and Reed have played alongside each other since they were young. “To know somebody and play with them since you were eight just never happens and you just know that’s something special,” said Jake when asked about his close friend and teammate Reed Babcock. Jake and Reed both have aspirations to play major league lacrosse for one or two years before going out to find a career in another field. With big aspirations for their futures Jake and Reed wish to continue their careers here at Regis Jesuit with another state championship this year and two more in the years to follow. “I have high hopes for another state championship this year,” said Reed, “Coach Soran has been an amazing mentor to me and the rest of the team this year.” We wish Jake, Reed, and the rest of the team good luck in the playoffs and hope they can bring home another state championship.
