Thescon is the Thespian conference at the Colorado Convention Center. This year, Kate Baldwin preformed, we saw “Noises Off” and “Mean Girls: The Musical.” Along with this, I watched so many amazing Individual Events. However, there was an issue with scheduling and the solo singing IE’s did not get to preform. It was still amazing to see everyone else’s.
I went to Thescon my sophomore year and I had a lot of fun. I thought that even though I am not as active as I once was in theater, Thescon would be a good way to get back into theater. I am glad I did that I got to further know so many fun people, and I came back with new friendships.
My favorite part of Thescon was hearing about the select few people who got to meet the cast of “SIX.” I have always loved “SIX,” and even though I was not chosen to meet them, everyone who went had such cool stories to tell. Charlotte Tolva went and said, “It was so amazing to see such accomplished actresses. I loved it.”
We had dinner together every night, as a troop. This was a chance for everyone to share their favorite memories from the day. I loved hearing about how everyone experienced Thescon. These stories gave me ideas for how to spend the following days. I went to workshops that I didn’t expect to enjoy like “Costumes 101” and “Breakdancing on Broadway.” My favorite workshop was “Swing Dancing,” I was partnered with a girl from Cherry Creek and we had so much fun together.
I wish I could go to Thescon again next year, but I feel like I made the most of my final year.
