The Regis Jesuit Girls Tennis Team has been having a great season. We talked to Elise Holt and Helen Adams about their experience on being on the Regis Varsity Tennis Team with the main focus of the love and support that under and upperclassmen have towards each other. The tennis team’s positive attitude and hard work is what playing on the team is all about.
“I try to create energy on the court and lift up my partner who is an underclassman,” Holt says.
Helen Adams highlights the energy shared on the court by saying, “She keeps me pumped up throughout the match.”
The Regis Varsity Tennis Team is an eye opening experience to learn about the leadership and positivity that the upperclassmen gravitate towards.
After many team bonding activities such as going to Red Rocks and roasting s’mores and drinking hot chocolate in the snow, the tennis team can say that they are dedicated to having a team that is up for any adventure as long as they are together. Coach Jen and Coach Julie are committed to the team’s goals of having a fun and a competitive season. They do a great job highlighting these goals by finding different techniques of coaching the team on the court. The camaraderie of the girls tennis team is exemplified by pre match huddles where captains share strategies, fostering a community of mentorship and unity.
Whether it is actually hitting the tennis ball or cheering their teammates on during matches, it is clear that The Regis Jesuit Tennis Team has a bond that is very unique and special. As all seven lines of the tennis team qualified for State, they were proud of their finish as all their hard work finally paid off from the season.
Elise and Helen advocate for the sisterhood at Regis which fosters not only a team but a community filled with love.
