Michelle Valdez first came to Regis Jesuit for the top notch education, but stayed for the sisterhood. She is surrounded by three friends on the freshman hall couches and her smile is big. As she laughs about fandom club and theater, it’s easy to see that she is loving life at RJ. When asked what her favorite aspect of RJ is so far she responds simply saying, “The people, the community is good.”

But, she’s not all giggles. One thing that she says people don’t really know about her is that she is philosophical. She says, “You know I just think about a lot of stuff and people are like what are you doing and I’m just like, oh thinking.” Both in her middle school, Challenge to excellence, and currently at Regis people tend to underestimate her philosophical side.

However, Valdez ends with another laugh confidently stating her spirit animal as, “Dan Howell. Dan Howell is my spirit animal. The fandom kids will understand.” And for those of you not in fandom club, he is a British YouTube star that according to Valdez, is very relatable
