The Heroes of the pool, Lifeguards, spend their day watching over families enjoying a swim.
Sophomore Samuel Jones is a lifeguard at Grange Pool. Jones is a part of Regis Jesuit’s swim team and the skills he’s
learned from being on the team gave him a fast track to being a lifeguard.

“Being a part of the swim team helped me get hired a lot easier, I was hired almost immediately.” Jones says.

Lifeguards stand ready atop of their posts ready for any emergency that may occur.

“One time I had to dive in after a kid that wasn’t able to reach the railings, we have
to keep an eye out for kids especially. We never know what is going to happen.”

Jones says,
“Every time I help someone it makes me feel like a hero”
“At times I get bored when nothing happens, but later I get a free swim if I want to.”
