Every high school has a drama club, a speech and debate club, and yearbook club, but here at Regis Jesuit we have one very unique club: The Harry Potter Club. The main activity of The Harry Potter club is of course playing Quidditch, just like you were Harry playing against Draco Malfoy.

In a match of Quidditch, students “fly” through the football field while trying not to get hit by a dodgeball while trying to hit a volleyball through one of three hoops. They also have to capture the snitch (a student wearing flag football flags). You also must be mounted on your broom the entire time.

“I recently have purchased GIANT butterfly wings for our snitch to wear, and I can’t wait to see them in action.” Said club moderator, a Harry Potter enthusiast, Ms. Mallory Peterson.

Why would someone want to join The Harry Potter club?

Ms. Peterson believes that, “It’s the perfect mix of academic and athletic activity.  Perfect. Mix. Oh yeah, and also LARPing (Live Role Playing).”

You can be  anyone in The Harry Potter club maybe Ron, or Harry, or an alter ego of yours! Go see for yourself! Go out and try playing Quidditch at lunch. You may meet a few crazy Harry Potter fans or even  your new best friend. The next match is Thursday October 24!
