While watching the freshman basketball team suit up for their game against Kent Denver, we got an inside look at what true sisterhood looks like. Regis Jesuit women’s basketball has a stellar reputation on the court, just look at their record. But what genuinely makes that such a good program?
The answer is their connection to each other on and off the court. After their game against Kent Denver, they took the win with a 37 to 24 lead and take on Eagle Crest later tonight. We interviewed Katie Rasure and Megan Lamar on their thought and views on the team, as well as what the team might bring in the future. Point Guard Megan Lamar says she feels confident for the upcoming season since their 3-0 record and is planning on making it 4-0 later tonight. Power Forward Katie Rasure talks about how the team has bonded over team dinners and practice every day. They collectively mention that just in a short amount of time the team has created a sister-like connection to each other.
Whether it’s practice, games, or food these girls have extreme love for each other. They all plan on carrying this love up to sophomore, junior varsity, and varsity basketball in the future. Their dedication to this team and program is noticed and dooly appreciated. They have given up their weekday night, weekends, and sleeping in just to get ready for the season. They are the future here at Regis Jesuit, and the program of the Women’s basketball sits in their hands.
