Snow Day: A Person’s Favorite Holiday

Last Tuesday, Regis Jesuit students leisurely relaxed in bed as the snow piled down from the sky. It was a long needed break from the rigorous days of studying and the intense preparation for finals week. Many people still found the need to study but others caved under the temptation of a foot of crystal, white snow.

Finley Krahn, a current Freshman, spent his snow day watching movie marathons and eating bags of popcorn. He comments “It was a much needed break from the day to day stress I face with school.”

Gavin Will, another freshman, spent his day building snowmen outside with his younger brother. After, he stayed inside drinking hot chocolate while watching his favorite TV shows. “I love snow days” he says. “It’s an excuse not to do anything” he adds.

No matter how old you are, a snow day provides an opportunity for every person to have fun.

After studying for upcoming exams, Dean Maloney, a current sophomore, spent his day building a sledding ramp with his brother. He laid down a piece of wood on his outside stairs, covered it with snow, and got to ski and sled down the ramp. “It was so much fun” he said.

After the the long needed break, students feel prepared to conquer finals week and are eagerly looking forward to another snow day.
