Denver East “Shooting”

Denver+East+Shooting

On December 3rd, there had been reports that there was a shooter at Denver East High School. Around Colorado, most people probably heard about the incident but, at Regis Jesuit High School people were terrified as they were given false information over the intercom.

Mr. Bostdorff said that there was an “active shooter” but in reality there was no shooting at all. The “shooter” was an East student who was trying to rob a student with a bb-type gun. As of now, Elhadji Samba Dioum is currently in the Denver Jail and is facing charges for a felony menacing and aggravated robbery.

A current RJ Senior, Geoffery Kelly, has a friend at East High School, and after the announcements, he was extremely worried that his friend was in danger. He says, “I was kind of mad but more worried for my friend.”

As of now, the situation has died down at Denver East, and Regis Jesuit plans to take more precautions on what information they provide to the RJ community.
