Regis Jesuit Football Hoping to Finish Strong Going Into Playoffs

Regis Jesuit (7-1) is coming to an end of the regular season with only two games left. They are hoping to finish strong and make a run in the playoffs. DJ Jackson ’18 had a season ending knee injury halfway through the season which gives Kiahan Martinez ’19 a chance to make a name for himself. So far Martinez has been doing a great job with over 1,000 rushing yards through 8 games. Martinez will have to stay healthy and strong if he wants to help Regis Jesuit win state. Martinez says “I had to take on more responsibility with Jackson out. We just need to keep fighting.” Martinez and the rest of the team have been playing hard all year and have a great chance of making it to the State Championship game.

Coach Filleman said “This is a new team. Different from last year and they have learned how to play together and learned their identity to what type of football they can play.” With the team getting to know each other much better they have shown much improvement from the beginning of the year. Regis will be taking on Westminster at Westminster High School next Friday at 7:00.
