Freshman Friday: Katherine Lockridge

Freshman Katherine Lockridge

At the end of the long mass day, the hallways are fraught with conversations about the priest’s homily and afternoon plans as girls shed their scarves and sling on their backpacks. The school is chaos.

Amidst this craziness on Thursday, November 19th is Katherine Lockridge whose poised demeanor and fashionable striped dress sets her apart from the disarray. This is only a snapshot of Lockridge’s personality who is defined by her sense of style and strong values. However, Lockridge is not entirely separate from the crowd as she values the Regis community. She says that she loves how “we are for each other and with each other.” This type of mentality of inclusiveness is one that Regis strives to engrave in all of its students.

Lockridge wasn’t always so eager about Regis as she is today, though. While at St. Mary’s last year, she says that the only reason she even considered Regis was because her mom made her shadow, but, like many Regis students, once she shadowed there was no going back. “I liked it a lot when I shadowed and I was really excited to come here the next year,” Lockridge explains.

Additionally, although Lockridge hasn’t gotten involved in any clubs here at Regis, opting for a fun volleyball club outside of school, she still embraces the community. Even so, the community has a lot to learn about her. One example is that Lockridge loves to sing, and not many people at Regis know that.

Finally, Lockridge likens herself to a gracious llama giving just another insight to this girl’s goofy yet poised personality.
