Cyrano de Bergerac – Theater Preview

Love, romance and laughter. This is what many people will be experiencing when the spring play, Cyrano de Bergerac, premieres in the spring. “I wanted to try to do comedies for both of this years performances.” says Mr. Aldo Pantoja.

The play is about a man named Cyrano de Bergerac who is a nobleman serving as a soldier in 1640’s for the French Army. Cyrano is very talented and skilled man.

Other than being a remarkable fighter, he is also a musician and a poet. His only flaw is that he has a big nose which makes him have self doubt.

Because of his big nose he doesn’t believe that he will be able to have woman fall in love with him, especially his distance cousin Roxane.

Another problem he faces is that a handsome Nobleman named Christian also has feeling for Roxane. Then the battle over the girl begins.

“This play is usually done by colleges or professionals,” says Pantoja. ” I wanted to try out more fight choreography because Regis has not had the chance to do many fight scenes since Life is a Dream,” he says.

If you are planning to auditioning for this play, there will be a audition workshop on December 9th from 3pm – 5pm at the Z Theater for those who want to learn more about this performance. Auditions are on January 6th from 4pm – 6pm in the Z Theater. The play will premier March 11-13 2016.
