Scientists around the world are hard at work on different variations of a Covid-19 vaccine, the people in the quarantine may not have to stay isolated for much longer thanks to the Moderna Vaccine.

The company Moderna has been working on a vaccine for Covid-19 for months, and now they have developed one that has been effective. In their trials, none of the volunteers developed any severe cases of Covid. Paul Offit, a vaccine researcher at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia states that even though the vaccine is 94.1% effective, “ I would still like to see all of the data but what we’ve seen so far is absolutely remarkable.” Even though the vaccine is not 100% effective it is better than not having any vaccine at all.

Moderna company has a goal of getting their vaccine available across the world once it is approved. According to Barcel, the CEO of Moderna they “ Want to have this vaccine available at a tiered price for low-income countries.” Because of the economy, low-income countries need to be able to get the vaccine as well in order for the pandemic to not exist. Higher-income countries would be paying about $32-$37 per dose. However, other countries will have some sort of discounts for the doses.

If the U.S Food and Drug Administration approves the vaccine, then it could come out in a few weeks. “ We think it can really prevent severe disease,” says Bancel. There is a good chance the vaccine will be approved because of its effectiveness and small symptoms. The CEO of Moderna Bancel states that “ I Think vaccine is going to be really a game changer for this pandemic.”
