The doors open on Black Friday and the sound of excited people rush into stores across America. Not everyone spends Black Friday the same way.

“My favorite part is just being able to go shopping with my mom,” said Lauren Winston Regis ‘19. Black Friday may be crazy for some people, but for others it’s a great time to spend with family and friends. “We pick out gifts for our other family members and it’s fun because it’s like our little secret.”

Every year Black Friday is all over the news, stories about people fighting over TVs or other valuable items. Many people go for the “great deals,” but is it really worth it? As many as 152 million people planned to shop on Black Friday weekend, this is said to be one of the biggest turnouts in Black Friday history. Only 57% of people will say they find the experience of Black Friday shopping enjoyable and fun.
