Some brothers share the privilege of being a Rowdy. This year’s Rowdies are fortunate enough to be equipped with two boys that brothers that were previously rowdies.

Rowdies have shared a big chunk of Regis Jesuit history since they standout from any other high school in the nation. These rowdies share a unique brotherly bond, and some actually are brothers. Jacob Dwyre shares a deep relationship with his brother, Ethan Dwyre, a rowdy here at Regis this year. Jonah Cohen, head Rowdy this year, had his older brother, Cooper, graduate as a Rowdy.

Could having a brother increase your chances of becoming a Rowdy, or does the gifted nuttiness run in the blood?

It seems as though, that both Jonah and Ethan share that craziness that both of their brothers had. Jonah agrees that his brother played a key role in influencing his decision on becoming a Rowdy. Dwyre feels as though that Ethan shares the same similarities.

“I think we are just both really outgoing and crazy, and I think we have a lot of team spirit. We both have good leadership,” says Jonah.

Jacob explains, “I like to think that I had some influence on him. If I weren’t one before (Ethan), I’m sure he would’ve still been a Rowdy. He’s got a lot of heart, energy, and passion; all key components in becoming a great Rowdy. Perhaps the greatest skill we both posses is that passion and the ability to share it will others.”

As they both explain how their brothers similarities effect their choices on becoming a rowdy, whose Rowdy group is better, Jacob Dwyre’s group, 2010 graduating class, or Ethan Dwyre and Jonah Cohen’s Rowdy group, this year?

“I’m sure [the Rowdies] are great. If compared to my crew though, I don’t know if they could stand up. We had a tank. Do they have a tank? No,” says Jacob.

While Jonah says, “I really think my brothers group was good, but from what Ive seen, our year could compete to be the best rowdies yet.”

Of course, being a Rowdy is one of the funnest things to participate in as a senior, whether it’s making people laugh or just going completely bonkers. Though people can debate which group of rowdies were the best, every Rowdy group has the same amount of fun. Which students had the most fun?

“Perhaps the greatest skill we both posses is that passion and the ability to share it will others,” says Jacob Dwyre.
Though Jonah has plenty of more memories to be made being a Rowdy, Jacob can reflect back on his high school memories, particularly as a Rowdy

Jacobs says, “One of my fondest memories from being Rowdy is rolling out to the football field, debuting the tank to the epic tune of ‘Ride of the Valkyries.’ ”

“If it’s not funny, don’t do it,” says Jacob Dwyre, giving advice to his brother, this years Rowdies, and all the Rowdies with many more years to come.
