REGIS JESUIT’S BASKETBALL TEAMS COMPLETE TWO PHENOMENAL SEASONS

By Hayden Oh ’26

This winter season, the Reds were hot on the court! Our girls basketball team finished the season strong with a 17-9 record, advancing to the Great 8. Furthermore, our boys team finished with a 20-7 record, advancing to the famed Final Four. The Regis Jesuit community could not be prouder of our boys and girls basketball teams for making it to the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively, at the Denver Coliseum.

The girls had a remarkable season with headliner games against No. 6 Arapahoe with a 60-55 win and No. 3 Monarch, 50-36. Our Raiders valiantly fought through the first round of the playoffs with a victory over No. 21 Denver South and won after a suspenseful, 54-51 game against No. 8 Cherokee Trail in the Sweet Sixteen. The team ended the season as No. 11 on the Colorado High School Girls Basketball Rankings, and their fans are thrilled to continue to support the future achievements of this growing program.

Our boys team began their season with a big win over No. 11 Valor Christian in a thrilling 70-66 game. They had a highlight win versus No. 16 Highlands Ranch, who they also defeated in the playoffs, where Joe Dorais ’23 broke the record for the most three pointers in a season. They won the following game with a 75-65 win over No. 27 ThunderRidge on Senior Night. While Raiders fell short to No. 3 Rock Canyon in the regular season, they came out on top in a nail-biting 47-46 game in the Elite 8, where the Red Sea really made their presence known! Our Raiders on the court ended as No. 9 in the state after a season of bringing great energy across the school and granting us an early dismissal to show up in the stands — we are proud of you!

As our basketball teams have amassed great success this winter season, fans will miss their Friday nights in the stands of the gyms, but we are excited to closely follow their journey next December.
