Field Hockey Loses 1-0 in state semi-final

On Wednesday October 28th, the Regis Jesuit field hockey team played in the 2015 semi finals against Cherry Creek High School.

Coach Spencer Wagner, rallies the girls at half time, at the state semi-final game.

The stands were filled with students that came to support the girls in hopes of pulling off the big win. In the first half the teams were very even, playing wise. At the end of the first half Cherry Creek scored a goal to have a 1-0 lead against Regis. The second half Cherry Creek had the lead and there were two goals scored by both teams that did not count.

Unfortunately Regis Jesuit did not get the W but they definitely played the hardest they could. The final score was very close, Cherry Creek only pulling off a 1 goal win. All of the players were very upset and devastated that they couldn’t have made it farther, especially the seniors who are now finished with their Regis Jesuit field hockey career. After the hard loss the girls are now very determined and they are gonna come back next season stronger than ever to win the title they deserve.
