Sydney Pulver was born to become a Division 1 soccer player.

“My dad put me and my sister in a recreational soccer program when I was five years old,” Pulver said.

Ever since Sydney was a little girl she has been playing soccer at a very competitive level.

One of the reasons why she is a very talented soccer player is because of her parents. “My parents have pushed me very hard, to help me get to the place where I am today. They are always so supportive and they are always giving up their time for me, to make me a better person and player.

“Looking up to role models can push someone to become a better person. “Some of my role models are Alex Morgan and Carli Lloyd, who both play on the women’s national team. They are some of the best soccer players in the world.”

Alex Morgan is an American soccer player and Olympic gold medalist. Alex is a forward for the Portland Thorns FC of the National Women’s Soccer League and for the United States women’s national soccer team. Carli Anne Lloyd is an American professional soccer midfielder who currently plays for the Houston Dash in the National Women’s Soccer League and the United States women’s national soccer team.

Sydney has a very packed and tough schedule for soccer because she is so dedicated to the sport she loves playing. One of the opportunities that Sydney has but most people don’t have is that she travels out of state for soccer tournaments.

” I practice about five times a week. Some of these days I have fitness training. On other days, I have practice out on the field with my team” Pulver says.

Sydney has set her goals very high since she was a little girl. “One of major goals since I was little, was to play college soccer at a Division 1 school and also get the highest level possible.”

According to the research, Overall a little over 7% of high school athletes (about 1 in 14) went on to play a varsity sport in college, and about 2% of high school athletes (1 in 50) went on to play at the NCAA Division I level. There are 37,760 girls playing soccer at the college level. Only 10.1% of high school players competing at the college level.

Heavily recruited by Division 1 Washington State Soccer Pulver committed in August. “It was a perfect fit for me, on and off the field, Sydney said. “From an academic standpoint, the campus was very pretty and the community was very welcoming.
